        SEND

As a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) teacher you’ll work with children and young people who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning, in order to reach their full educational potential.

A special needs role is to support students with learning, physical or behavioural difficulties. A demanding, yet ultimately rewarding job, you may be required to work in a Special Educational Needs (SEND) school, or in a mainstream classroom / base. Depending on the needs and severity of the student’s condition, you may be expected to work one-to-one with an individual pupil, or with a small group of children in a larger classroom situation.

Day-to-day, your job will involve helping the student in the classroom, under the supervision of the teacher in charge. You’ll be expected to encourage children to communicate with others, understand instructions and be confident in their learning.

Whether you’re looking to develop a career in SEND, or you’re an experienced practitioner, our specialist team is ready to help.

If you are interested in working in SEND, please contact our specialist department to see how we can help you gain experience with SEND and become Team Teach trained.
