A Primary School in Wandsworth is seeking a speicalist support assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a year 1 child with ASD.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a 1:1 basis supporting the child throughout the working day including some break and lunch times. The role will be 5 days a week working from 8:30-15:30 and the expectation is that the successful candidate will continue on a temporary contract for the full academic year with the potential for the optimum candidate to move onto a permanent contract in the new academic year.
It is essential that you have recent and prior experience working alongside children diagnosed with Autism. It is also preferable that you have experience working with PECs. The school had a candidate in the position, however, due to a change in childcare responsibilities, they cannot commit to full-time hours anymore.
The Primary School in Wandsworth is graded GOOD by Ofsted. The Head teacher is keen to support the successful candidate and is prepared to place the successful candidate on professional development courses in order to upskill during their time in school. The child has an EHCP which guarantees the funding for the duration of their time in primary school.
