English HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Newham

Are you interested in working in a developing area of East London supporting aspirational students? Do you have a passion and talent for supporting young people? Do you have experience with Social Emotional Mental Health?

Vision Teaching is recruiting for an English HLTA to work in an alternative provision located in Newham. This role would suit an experienced SEN LSA or an English graduate who would be able to deliver the KS3 English curriculum. The students at this school find it difficult in mainstream settings, they could be vulnerable, LAC, come from high levels of deprivation, have been exposed to violence and substance abuse and may have challenging behaviour.

· English HLTA

· Newham – Full time

· January 2022 start

· £90-110 per day, depending on experience

As an English HLTA, the successful applicant will hold a number of responsibilities. This is the ideal opportunity to gain the necessary skills and experience for those considering applying to teacher training courses (PGCE, Schools Direct and Teach First)

What you can expect as an HLTA – Higher Level Teaching Assistant

· Excellent experience and training for aspiring Teachers

· The role will include an English teaching timetable so previous experience teaching or covering classes is desirable.

· To work with vulnerable students needing additional support

· Lead English interventions

HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant requirements:

· Experience of working with young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour

· HLTA or Tutor experience – leading small groups

· English specialism

· Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

· A passion for working with young people with SEND
