Vision Teaching are currently recruiting on behalf of a two-form entry Primary School in Swanley looking for a 1:1 learning support assistant. This is a long-term role for the academic year, starting in September. You must have the skills needed to engage individuals and groups of children in effective learning; you should have an interest in developing children’s social skills, showing sensitivity to their individual needs. You should be a highly efficient, flexible and reliable person, able to forge positive relationships with children. Knowledge of Makaton or willingness to learn it is desirable. You will need to be energetic, supportive and a positive team player, with a sense of humour and excellent communication skills
The SEN Teaching Assistant would be expected to work with pupils on a one to one basis, in addition to assisting within group sessions. You will be mainly working in Years 4 and 5 so experience of the KS2 curriculum is desirable but not essential. You will be working with our SENCO and Class Teacher to create a safe and consistent learning environment for the child concerned. The role will require a high degree of emotional literacy and commitment, but has the potential to be hugely rewarding as your work will make a tangible difference to a child’s life chances
