An ‘Outstanding’ Primary School based in Merton has approached me to support them in finding an experienced LSA to join them after half term to work with a Reception child with ASD. The role is full time and will be for the remainder of the academic year with the view of continuing in September 2022.
The position is available will be working 1:1 with a young boy who has recently joined the school. The school are starting the assessment process for him to get an EHCP, the school and parent suspect the child has ASD. He joined the school in December and has found the transition quite hard, the boy is very shy, socially he can be awkward and he is struggling to grasp basic things that the school would expect him to know already. He is non-violent and is generally very well behaved. The ideal person for this role would be someone who is socialable, patient and someone who has the ability to bring the best out of children/people. You need at least one years full time employment experience working with ASD pupils preferably in Early Years.
The school itself is amazing, the Head alongside SLT have created an enriched curriculum that caters for all abilities and they like to identify problems early to be able to resolve it. The staff is long standing, there is a great sense of community and family feel within the school and they are looking for someone who shares the same sort of ethos as them.
If interested in this role apply immediately. If this isn’t the right role for you but you know someone suitable get them to apply, we offer cash referrals.
