A ‘Good’ Primary school in Brent is looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant. This role is to support a Year 3 Child with DCD in the morning, this child is verbal and is very well behaved. They just need help with their learning and focusing. The role in the afternoon is supporting two year 5 children in the afternoon, one of which is visually impaired. This child is well behaved but needs help with the tools provided for learning i.e using an iPad. The second child does have some behaviour issues, but these are quite sporadic. These roles are not out of class 1:1. You will be in the classroom with a Teacher and the rest of the pupils.
You will be working in partnership with the SENCo and Class Teacher in developing effective interventions to further support children’s learning. In addition, you will be helping children with their communication and social skills. You will have good experience in supporting children with special needs.
This role will pay between £80-90 per day based on experience and qualifications. The role will last until the end of the academic year, working Monday to Friday and a permanent role at the school is possible for the right candidate for September.
