In this SEND teaching assistant role you will be supporting a lovely boy aged 8 who has San Filippo syndrome (if you are not familiar please see link below) you Weill be providing additional support in and out of the classroom, working alongside another very experienced teaching assistant and supported by an amazing leadership team. The pupil his very active and strong so being flexible in your approach and being nimble on your feet are quite important in this role, he does not exhibit challenging behaviours as such but can run off if not supervised. This role is full time 8.30am till 4pm ,5 days a week.
In this role you will have to liaise with parents, case workers and your colleagues to ensure you are providing the very best support possible. You will be required to complete logs ensuring all information is up to date and being tracked appropriately, this is essential in this role. The pupil may not be in school for the full duration of the hours and in this time you will be required to plan for future sessions and may be required to help out as an additional in the school. A lot of the pupils out of classroom activities are arts and music based so experience with this is preferred.
