Hey, Sid! Let us know what your role is here at Vision Teaching…
I’ve come in as Operations Manager. Parts of my role include having a hand in internal recruitment and onboarding, supporting the building of key Branches for Vision including Hertfordshire and Kent, upskilling and training consultants and doing whatever else is required of me. Jack and Master comes to mind, I know.
What advice would you give someone starting their career in recruitment?
Put the hours in, find an appropriate mentor and grow thick skin. It’s tough, the first 12 months will decide whether you are in recruitment for the next 20 years or never work in the industry again, roll with the punches. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice and lean on your colleagues from time to time and don’t get take things personally, it’ll all be alright on the night.
How would your friends describe you?
Short.
What three items couldn’t you live without?
My heart, lungs and brain. Vitals out of the way, my phone, coffee and a set of darts. My 2 children are my entire world, however I’m not sure I can describe them as items!
What made you join the team at VT?
I would’ve been foolish not to. I’ve followed Visions journey for the past couple of years and the leadership is what impressed and enticed me. They are present, on the ball and really want to take the company forward. It was a potential journey that really excited me and it’s looking like one of the better decisions in my career. Also, there’s a dart board.
You in three words…
Supportive, Determined and utterly, utterly Hilarious.
Interesting fact?
I used to have a real extreme fear of hurdles, but I got over it.
