An Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Mixed Secondary School in Hackney is seeking a Pupil Support Mentor to join school on a full-time basis this September. This is an exciting opportunity for a Pupil Support Mentor looking to grow in a supportive and academically rigorous environment.
Main Responsibilities of a Pupil Support Mentor:
- As a Pupil Support Mentor, you will provide pastoral and academic support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive behavior and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents to develop individualized support plans tailored to each pupil’s needs and achieve school wide goals.
- Monitor and track pupils’ progress, attendance, and engagement, intervening early when issues arise to ensure pupils remain on track.
A Successful Pupil Support Mentor would look like:
- Demonstrate excellent communication and empathy skills, building trusting relationships with pupils and their families.
- Be able to provide a proven track record of strong organizational abilities and adaptability to manage multiple cases and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A successful Pupil Support Mentor will possess a genuine passion for supporting young people’s development and resilience, with experience or training in youth work, counselling, or education support (similar roles may have been titled Learning Support Assistant or Hight Level Teaching Assistant)
